We visited Kota Keluarga April of last year for my husband’s birthday and our last out of town before I pop! I was 7 months pregnant and we needed a place to completely relax before we put our gears on for persistent eyebags and sleepless nights. Here’s a quick review of why we fell in love with this place!
Kota Keluarga beach is part of a private residential estate that’s not very accessible to the public. This is why the resort is not as crowded as the other known beach resorts in Laiya, Batangas. If you want a quiet, peaceful and tranquil ambiance, then this is perfect for you.
2. Beachfront view
Who doesn’t want to wake up with this view? Kota Keluarga offers a few cabanas facing this vast ocean so make sure to book the right one! Here, you are literally a few steps away from the beach.
3. Heated Pool
The resort has heated pool that was perfect for the pregnant me! It has a kiddie and adult pool and since the resort itself is less crowded, we were able to enjoy it all to ourselves.
4. Good customer service
From booking until leaving the resort, their customer service didn’t fail us. They took extra care of me considering my condition. They ensured that we got the best cabana and they patiently answered my never ending questions. Thumbs up for this!
5. Cleanliness
Since the resort accept day tours, I suspected that the place will not be that clean and organized. But surprisingly, it was well maintained and clean the whole time that we’re there.
We really enjoyed our stay in this little paradise. Booking on a weekday is a plus as we really felt the exclusivity of the resort. Contrary to many negative reviews online, we did our research prior to reservation that’s why we already know what to expect. So if you’re considering to stay overnight, make sure you consider these items to avoid disappointments.
Things to consider:
There’s a 10-20 minutes rough road before reaching the beach area. It was very difficult for us considering that we’re on a sedan car and there’s a 7-month pregnant passenger inside. But we survived! Whew!
The cabanas don’t have a private restroom and that’s an absolute inconvenience. You need to use the common toilet and shower room so request for a cabana near the comfort rooms.
There are no toiletries so make sure you bring your own.
If the resort didn’t hit the target number of guests, buffet will be cancelled. But you can always order ala carte and the cost is around Php 250 per meal.
Lastly, though they offer free wifi, mobile signal is close to none. So if you need to contact someone, you can only do so via internet and that is, if you’re near the restaurant.
Kota Keluarga has its pros and cons and may not really be for everyone. So to ensure that you will enjoy your stay, make sure to do your research first and talk directly to the resort’s representatives.
For us, we had a very nice experience in this beach resort. It gave us the vacation we needed before I give birth and we are actually looking forward to comeback now with our little one to recover from our still persistent eyebags and unimaginable sleepless nights.
