Hotel Review Costa Pacifica Baler Aurora Philippines

Costa Pacifica: Perfect for thrill-seekers and chill travelers

While everyone is going back to the city, here we are driving to Baler to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We opted for a place that can provide thrill (for the husband) and chill (for the pregnant wife). Thus, we booked Costa Pacifica in Baler Aurora, Philippines.

Here’s a quick review and tips if you’re considering this hotel on your next trip!

The Room

We opted for a Pacifica Premier room with Ocean View for 3 days and 2 nights. It’s a spacious 38 sq.m room with a balcony separated by floor to ceiling glass doors. This gave us an awesome view of the famous Sabang Beach.

Their king-sized bed is heavenly comfortable and it didn’t give the pregnant me any problem during our whole stay. There’s a couch where my husband had his room service massage, a work station, a TV with cable, a complimentary mini bar with sodas, a safe and balcony chairs outside.  Overall, the basic things you need to feel comfortable and at peace is spot on.

The Bathroom

Filled with natural light due to the glass panels near the ceiling, it is complete with a hot and cold shower, a bidet, vanity kit, shaving kit, shampoo, soap, lotion, toothbrush and a hair dryer. Nothing fancy but it’s clean, very functional and quite spacious.

The Common Area

Costa Pacifica boasts of several features that sets it apart from other accommodations around the area. It has an adult pool, a children’s pool with play equipment at the middle, poolside chairs, outdoor showers, cabanas, playground, lawns, a souvenir shop and of course the dining area called the Beach House.

I enjoyed taking a dip and doing lapse on their adult pool. The water is cold yet refreshing especially when you’re surrounded with greens, clear blue sky and the sound of smashing waves from the nearby beach.

The Surf Shop

Who wouldn’t consider surfing when you’re in Baler? Our booking comes with a 2-hour free surf sessions with a local guide. Costa Pacifica’s Surf Shop is a few steps away from the children’s pool where everything you’ll need is available. Since I’m pregnant, my husband got to enjoy the two sessions. But since it’s been raining for several days, the water was a little muddy and he noted that a portion of the beach is full of trash, diapers and plastic.

The Food

The food is superb. Breakfast selection was a varied buffet. They change some of the items in the menu everyday but the mainstays are congee, bacon, omelet, bread and fruit stations. We also had our dinner and lunch in the hotel (unlike in our previous stays where we tried the restaurants outside). Their paco pizza is a must!

The Staff

We experienced several inconveniences specifically with our malfunctioned keycards. It also came to a point when they needed to replace the door locks because the door’s battery ran out. We needed to request for slippers and floor towels/rags, as well as drinks inside the mini bar on our fist night. However, these inconveniences were addressed immediately by their friendly and accommodating staff. Thus, I would still recommend staying in this hotel.

Overall Experience

Food, amenities and customer service are my top three reasons why this hotel is worth it. Just make sure to book an ocean view room to maximize your stay as it really provides a relaxing mood especially in the morning while you’re enjoying your cup of coffee.

Costa Pacifica in Baler, Aurora is indeed the place that can provide you the thrill and chill that you’re looking for.
